“Daniel Pennac: Ho visto Maradona!” is the story of Daniel Pennac’s creative and surreal investigation into the myth of Diego Armando Maradona. A unique story that follows the process of creating and staging a theatrical show and with it the research and genesis of the book by one of the most charismatic and entertaining writers of all time, around a fascinating theme such as Maradona and his myth. All this in a city like Naples, the stage and megaphone of the myth itself and the epicenter of the pain and confusion created by the disappearance of the number ten par excellence of world football, the theater for the debut on stage of Pennac’s story about Maradona.
The great French writer is interested in the Maradona effect: the icon, the anti-hero, the scapegoat, through the impact that the champion had on the lives and stories of ordinary people and writers such as Roberto Saviano and Maurizio De Giovanni. While he constructs and stages the show of the same name with his multi-ethnic and itinerant theatre company, Pennac, who seems to enjoy the views of Naples as if he were born there, gives us, thanks to his unique and disenchanted point of view, an unprecedented and passionate pilgrimage around a myth and the world he inhabited.
